Svalefest 2020

Some five years ago, I followed my heart and jumped into a car that my dear brother Johan had bought literally five minutes prior to our departure, unsure of how this journey towards the north east (a 7 hour drive from Leeuwarden to Aarhus on the A7) would turn out and what the destination would be. As I overheard him more or less summarizing it as follows during last weekend: “We went to Aarhus together a couple of times, and then Jurriaan stayed.” Yes, I am here to stay, at Svalehaven, house number 7.

Last weekend we celebrated the final days of what for me has been the most beautiful Summer of my life so far, during the first festival (of many to come) we organized at our new home Svalehaven (Danish for ‘the swallow garden’): Svalefest.

A Summer where my dear brother Jacques’ dear partner Anna blessed our family with the birth of my dear nephew and namesake Antony, making my dear mother and namesake Tony a grandmother, who in her turn took the courageous decision to move out of our childhood home to start a new chapter of her life.

A Summer where I was granted the opportunity to continue and start learning from and with my dear brothers Jakob and Adam about (permaculture) gardening, building and (co-)creating, and how to live an increasingly loving, joyful, and happy life.

A Summer where I slept most of the nights under the stars on the deck that we used as a stage during Svalefest (more or less exactly on the spot where my dear bass playing brother Morten is happily playing and smiling in the video below), waking up to the sunrise and the beautiful song of our dear feathered friends.

A Summer where I bathed in wonderful wild waters (sea, lake or river) at least once every day, minus one (which was quite an easy accomplishment given that Svalehaven borders the sea).

A Summer where I mostly ate from Svalehaven’s luscious kitchen garden thus becoming more and more one with the land, and started living more and more in harmony with nature, aligning more and more with the cycles of the sun (also thanks to my dear yogi brother Philip (Limitless Yoga) who introduced me to the ancient yogic practice Surya Kriya, a daily practice I have gratefully and humbly embraced), and making more and more healthy choices in my life.

A Summer where I finally got to play several concerts again, all within 20 minutes walking distance of Svalehaven (and the last one right outside of my bedroom window) and had the absolute honor and joy of playing music together with my dear brothers of Triple Fourtune (Radek, Marcus and aforementioned Morten and Jakob), as well as with my dear sisters and amazing musicians, songwriters and beings Sarah and Karina, and with my dear sister, singing bowl wizard and former housemate Angellinah, during a ceremony in Hjerterum in Aarhus.

A Summer where, just days after having visited their beautiful new farm home, I have been blessed by a visit of my dear brother and sister Johan (Eleven Monkeys – check out his other amazing videos!) and Frederike, who introduced the new, multiversal practice of Qi-Yo in Jutland, created this ( magnificent video – perfectly capturing the atmosphere, mood and energy of this soul family in this paradisiacal place in this holy moment – and shared not only excellent times, but also Frederike’s home-made herbal medicine – as well as her knowledge in this field – with both new and old friends, all during a 48-hour visit (now THAT’s wisely and precisely making use of the source of creation).

A Summer where we reconnected with the tribe of Systema Aarhus, who have been helping me get to know myself better, and blessed us with an inspiring workshop during the festival. Tusind tak!

A Summer where I (re-)connected with both old and new dear friends and neighbors, as well as both biological and soul family, not in the last place during the festival – I love, thank, cherish and honor you all from the top of my heart! – and where we have been blessed with amazingly beautiful weather, enormous amounts of sunlight, clean skies and at times wonderful rain.

It was our first Summer on the land where happy families will live for eternity, and where children will grow up freely, happily and in abundance, in Spaces of Love to thrive forever. This is the first piece of our Motherland we have taken back in this part of the world – a momentous chapter of an ever-continuing process of joyful co-creation all through the universe.

The somewhat longer version is that I kept going back and forth and beyond for some years, during which I met so many welcoming new Danish and international friends, who have been hosting me and helping me in so many ways, and made it basically impossible for me to stay away and not wanting to settle here. I thank, cherish and honour you all from the top of my heart – titusind tak!

As I enjoyed the first – remarkably warm – night of this Autumn gazing at the stars on my ‘deck-bed’ just outside my bedroom, I gratefully reminisced these last five years, during which my dear father and role model Jacques suddenly passed to the other side. This was an intensely challenging moment for the whole family and beyond, which inspired me to live every day to the fullest, to dream infinitely, tremendously and courageously, and to love abundantly, immeasurably and inexhaustibly.

Every day we get to live on this marvelous planet and see the sun rise and set is our biggest present we can keep receiving in this holy moment, for which I thank, cherish and honor all my ancestors by living the happiest life I possibly can, and to – in complete acceptance and gratitude of where and who I am right now – work on improving myself, my health, and my strength, as well as on beautifying the space which I take responsibility for, so that my children will grow up in an increasingly beautiful Space of Love.

Exactly five years before singing it here at Svalefest (on 19-9-2015), I sang this song (Stronger Stronger) for the first time in a ceremony (which I only found out when I was writing this down four days later). During that ceremony (on 19-9-2015) I realized I should start tuning in a different frequency (after literally not being able to tune my guitar to A=440hz), after which I started trying out other tunings than the standard tuning.

Two months later my father passed, and I sang the chorus of this song to him shortly before his soul left his body. One week later that I bought a beautiful Ovation guitar (which was built just before I was born) and another week later I found myself in an airplane to Egypt, where I involuntarily donated most of the cash that I had brought to a Luxorian pickpocket on the first day of my trip, and from then on frantically travelled all around the country, singing the same chorus in the King’s chamber of a for some reason completely deserted Great pyramid of Giza. It was a somewhat turbulent period of my life, to say the least.

Shortly later, on 14 February 2016, I tried to tune my guitar to A=444hz after my dear brother Cesar had pointed out the solfeggio frequency 528hz (the C5 in A=444hz tuning) to me, and found out that all of sudden my voice could easily reach certain high notes that previously (in the standard tuning A=440hz) had been impossible for me.

Without going into too much hocus pocus about frequencies and tunings, I noticed that tuning to this frequency did ‘something’, and most important of all: it felt right to me to play and sing in this tuning, so I continued to sing my songs (and others) in this tuning, and, inspired in the first place by my dear sister Magda and aforementioned Cesar and their ceremonies, and later on by others, most importantly by the immensely powerful Vedruss Anastasia and the book series that have been written about and in co-operation with her by Russian author Vladimir Megre, to dream about creating heaven on earth, or rather, restoring it.

Shortly after I met and connected with my dear brother and musical wizard Jason on many levels, who kindly, lovingly and generously hosted me in the basement of his home in a small village in rural western Jutland, together with his wonderful housemate Anders, in a time where I could really use the help they so patiently offered. Anders had built a recording studio in this house, in which I was planning to record some songs, a project which at the time I was not ready for to complete.

A few months later we were visited by a powerful druid from Eastern Jutland now going by the artist name of Yakox, who I established the musical collective Triple Fourtune with, through which we collaborated with several extravagant characters and continued to dream, think, talk and sing about heaven on earth.

Around two years ago, in the Summer of 2018, I started residing in Jakob’s beautiful and modest home (‘Ingolf’) close to Aarhus, where I lived in his only bedroom for one and a half year, which was located between the bathroom and the kitchen. Thus we got to know each other really well in this period, and started creating events – first in ‘Ingolf’, and later on in a holistic center called Hjerterum in Aarhus – going by the name of Urkraft Ting (‘Ting’ meaning meeting, assembly or public gathering). The purpose of these events was to find and strengthen our tribe and to collectively dream up and give voice to our thoughts, dreams and ideas, with the aim of realizing them. We also started making similar events, which were more focused on singing together, called Urkraft Sang.

On the 2nd of the 2nd of 2020, within 11 months after the first Urkraft Ting, we found our way to Svalehaven, which we ever since have been transforming into a paradisiacal permaculture space, where we will create homesteads on which happy and harmonious families will bring forth joyful children who’ll eternally rejoice living on the blossoming earth and beyond. Here we joined together with aforementioned Adam, a brilliant master builder, woodworker, gardener, dancer and singer (among many more things) whose powerful presence and contribution has lifted our tribe to the next level.

With this constellation we dared to start organizing concerts and festivals at Svalehaven. Late August we were blessed by a visit from aforementioned Sarah Sounds from the Netherlands, who was the first one to play a concert in Svalehaven. Three weeks later we organized Svalefest, featuring several amazing musicians and sound healers from different countries, which was the first festival of many more to come.
